History of Starco Security AG – Over 30 Years of Excellence in the Security Industry
Starco Security Ltd. was established in April 1994. Today, Starco Security Ltd. has over 50 well-trained employees on full-time and part-time contracts. Some of our employees started their careers with the police or have obtained the Swiss Federal Certificate of Higher Education for Security and Guarding (SFB / FSB) or the Swiss Federal Certificate of Higher Education for Close Protection (SFP / FPO).
In July 2009, the first Starco Security branch was opened in the city of Zug due to expansion.
In June 2009, Starco Security's managing director, Marco Fetz, was elected to the board of the
Association of Swiss Security Companies (VSSU). He will represent the interests of small and medium-sized companies in the Swiss security industry.
In March 2011, Starco Security was awarded the status of " approved training centre for security personnel in the canton of Sankt Gallen" by the Sankt Gallen cantonal police.
In June 2012, Starco Security LCC was converted into a privat limited company (Ltd.).
In December 2012, Andreas Hungerbühler was admitted as a partner with a 25% share. The remaining 75% of the shares are held by Marco Fetz.
In May 2013, Starco Security AG receives the eduQua:2008 certification. In December 2013, Starco Security AG becomes the first Swiss training centre in the security sector to receive the new and more stringent eduQua:2012 certification.
2015 Starco Security Ltd. is a founding member, co-owner and partner company of the
Global Secure Alliance Group in Paris.
In April 2017, Starco Security Ltd. expands further and opens a branch office in the city of Zurich on Europaallee.
From 2018, Starco Security Ltd's higher vocational training courses will be subsidised by the federal government.
In May 2019, Starco Security Ltd. successfully completes the eduQua:2012 recertification.
In June 2023, Starco Security Ltd. received the new SRC certification in accordance with the new 2021 guidelines.
The Managing Director of Starco Security AG, Marco Fetz, was re-elected to the Board of the
Association of Swiss Security Service Companies (VSSU) in June 2023. He has been a member of the VSSU Board since 2009, making him the second-longest serving member of the Board of the Association of Swiss Security Service Providers.
In July 2023, Starco Security AG takes over further shares of the
Global Secure Alliance Group in Paris.
In August 2023, as a board member of the VSSU, Starco Security AG Managing Director Marco Fetz designs and supervises the first joint course on event security of the
Swiss National Police Institute (SPI) and the
Conference of Cantonal Police Commanders of Switzerland (KKPKS).
In August 2024, Starco Security Ltd. became a member of the international
Global Securiforce Group (GSF). The
Global Securiforce (GSF) is a group of reputable international security companies. The companies have come together informally because they are constantly faced with the problem of operating outside their respective national borders and because they work together to find solutions that meet the needs of their customers.
International support - local response In October 2024, we moved into our new office and headquarters at Husächerstrasse 2 in Wettswil (including a new, modern training rooms).

Starco Security AG has been a member of the Association of Swiss Security Service Companies (VSSU / ASSC) since 2005. In June 2009, Starco's Managing Director, Marco Fetz, was elected to the
Board of the Association of Swiss Security Service Companies (VSSU / ASSC). Marco Fetz was re-elected in June 2023, making him the second longest serving board member of the Swiss association.
